Jacqueline was raised in England and had to study to learn French. She studied dance as a child. As childhood faded and family troubles loomed in the future she took an early interest in film, and began a modeling career to help pay for acting lessons. Work came slow, but by the mid 1960?s she has some major roles in a few films. In 1968, her career got a boost when Mia Farrow unexpectedly dropped out of the shooting of ?The Detective? when Farrow's marriage was ending. By the mid 1970?s Jacqueline had moved her career to Europe. Like many actresses who work hard in Europe, it took a while for her labour to catch on in America. But hard work and good looks paid off in the end and eventually she headed stateside. Newsweek magazine declared her "the most beautiful film actress of all time". Jacqueline continued to get work in the USA thought the 1980s and thought the 1990s. As nature took its course the ?wet T-Shirt? roles eventually turned to more serious roles. In Britain she acted in uncredited, in The Knack... (d. Richard Lester, 1965) and, after several more, including Cul-de-Sac (d. Roban Polanski, 1966), went to Hollywood where she starred with Sinatra (The Detective, d. Gordon Douglas, 1968) and Steve McQueen (Bullitt, d. Peter Yates, 1968), and produced and starred in Rich and Famous (d. George Cukor, 1981), perhaps her best role, as the 'serious' author opposite Candice Bergen's popular novelist. Over her lifetime she has worked with many famous actors and directors.
