Justine Bateman was raised in a show business family. She is the daughter of Kent Bateman, an established Film producer, and Victoria, a flight attendant. Her brother Jason Bateman is also a successful actor/producer.
Appearing in amateur and professional theatre starting at age 11, her first regular television role did not come until 1982. That is when she was cast as Mallory Keaton on Family Ties, the role that she is unarguably best known for.
Throughout the 7 Season run of Family Ties and afterwards, Justine Bateman appeared occasionally in made for TV movies and hosted specials. Her slow decline in to TV obscurity was stalled in 1996 when she landed the role as Sarah on the US version of Men Behaving Badly for the shows 2 season run.
In Jan 2001 Justine married Mark Fluent. They have a son, Duke Kenneth Fluent (born: Jun 2002) and a daughter Olivia (born: Jan-2004). Except for the odd gig as an actress, Justine Bateman spends her time on her successful second career designing fashion knit hats and skivvies for today's stars.
