Kerry Katona, actually, Kerry Jayne Elizabeth Katona, was born on the 6th September 1985. Her mother, Susan Katona, was a manic depressive, Kerry said, "One minute we'd be laughing and joking,the next she'd be telling me she wanted to die". Susan got pregnant after having an affair with a married man,who subsequently abandoned her. Kerry never knew her father, but knows his name and where in the conutry he lives. Kerry lived in a one-bedroom council flat in Warrington, Chesire.
Three months later, Kerry Katona's mother married a local man, Arnold Ferrier. After 5 years Susan left him. While Kerry was growing up and trying to cope with her mother's depression and suicide attempts, she also had the hard task of living with her mother's abusive boyfriends. Kerry Katona feel out with Arnold just before she married Bryan McFadden, Kerry cancelled his wedding invitation and haven't spoken since. The pair lived together in increasingly difficult circumstances, sometimes staying in women's refuges. Social services were called when a vilent boyfriend stabbed her mother,and Kerry Katona was taken into care. "Some of Mum?s boyfriends used to beat the crap out of her and me. One night, a row started. This particular bloke slapped Mum and i saw blood spurting from her. She screamed and then he turned on me. I saw the flash of a knife blade and i thought he was going to kill me." Kerry Katona then lived with a succession of foster homes, and in care homes until she was 13. Fred and Margaret Woodall, looked after Kerry in 1993, said "She told us she loved her mum and wouldn't swap her for the world". At 13 Kerry left the Woodall's and got a flat of her own. Kerry Katona left Padgate High School and got many jobs including, working in a chip shop, working as a BT sales adviser, as a glamour model and lapdancer. These shots of Kerry naked surfaced when she was in Atomic Kitten. It was Fred who gave Kerry Katona away at her wedding in 2002.
Atomic Kitten started off as Kerry Katona, Liz McClarnon, and Heidi Range. Even before the band started Heidi left. This is where Natasha (Tash) Hamilton arrived to take Heidi's place. Kerry came up with the name Automatic Kitten, but the name changed to Atomic Kitten shortly afterwards. They got a contract deal with Innocent Records, and soon released their debut single, Right Now, in November 1999. Right Now went into the charts at No.10. Their second single, See Ya, reached number 6. Atomic Kitten's next singles did not do so well and their album also didnt seem to impress people. Their record company was just about to drop them when manager, Andy McCluskey persuaded the record company to let the Kittens release another single, Whole Again. In August 1999, on the Smash Hits roadshow, Kerry met Bryan McFadden, who was a member of Westlife. Kerry refused to go out on a date with Bryan. It was only after Kerry Katona came back from Japan that they started to get on with each other. Bryan dumped his girlfriend and managed to get Kerry on a date with him.
Kerry Katona and Bryan kept their relationship a secret,and it was only 3 weeks before Bryan proposed to Kerry at Doe Castle, Donegal (Ireland) on December 28, 1999. They kept their engagement a secret for a year and then decided to tell the world about their relationship. Their pictures were released to Hello Magazine. At the same time Kerry decided to leave the band, as she found out she was pregnant. Kerry Katona had decided that being a mother was more important than being a working mother. Jenny Frost from Precious took Kerry's place in the band. August 31, 2001, came the arrival of their first daughter, Molly Marie McFadden. She was born in Mount Carmel Hospital, Dublin. Straight after the birth came the task of getting to fairytale wedding set up. They got married the 5th January 2002, at Slane Castle in Ireland. Then came the sex scandal involving a lap dancer (Amy Barker) and Bryan on his stag night. This destroyed Kerry Katona, and it was made worse by being in every newspaper. At the time Kerry was filming Elimidate. But Kerry and Bryan stuck at their relationship and now say that they are deeper in love than they were before. Kerry Katona says that the scandal brought them together and made them both stronger, claiming that they are "soul mates". Their second daughter, Lilly-Sue McFadden arrived on the 3rd Febrauary 2003, at Mount Carmel Hospital, Dublin.
At the start on 2004, Kerry Katona joined other celebs including Jordan, and Peter Andre, in ITV1's, I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here. This proved to be a big challenage for Kerry and she was determined to stick at it, but within days she was wanting to go home. She missed her baby daughter's (Lilly-Sue) first birthday,which upset Kerry. But to Kerry's surprise Kerry became Queen of the Jungle. Kerry Katona faced many fears, and complete her challenages,including a sinking box, eating bugs and many other inside tasks. All the celebs managed to raise more than 1 million pounds, for there chosen charities. Kerry's charity was for Temple Street Hospital, Dublin. Now Bryan has left Westlife, which was in March 2004 and he and Kerry got divorced and she's dating with Dave Cunningham (from Warrington). Kerry Katona is a presenter on ITV's Loose Women and is also a columist for OK! Magazine.
