• Born in Elmhurst, Illinois, but raised in Phoenix, Arizona
• Graduated from Mountain Pointe High School in May of 2003
• Has an older sister named Jessica
• Landed her first audition as the character Meg in an independent feature titled "Boo"
• Moved to California after winning a 600 dollar jackpot in a casino game of bingo; the last day she was able to gamble before Arizona State law changed the gambling age from 18 to 21
• Turned down a full ride scholarship to ASU to pursue a career as an actor
• Was only in one high school play because she devoted most of her time to the school's dance company

• Contemplated going to school to become an interior designer

Rachel Melvin graduated from Mountain Pointe High School in Phoenix, Arizona and immediately made the move to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. Since then, Rachel has appeared in commercials and as a guest star in TV shows such as the WB's "Jack and Bobby" and "Summerland", ABC's "8 Simple Rules" and NBC's daytime drama "Days of our Lives." She can also be seen playing the character Meg, in an independent horror feature entitled _Boo! (2004)_ , yet to be released. When not acting, Rachel enjoys dancing, singing, shopping, and painting.
