  • Got the first role she auditioned for, as the restaurant hostess on "Sex & the City".

"It sounds so cheesy, I know. But the way a man smells is really important. It must be something about the pheromones. People think I'm nuts. But there's something very primal, very animalistic about it." says Rachel Nichols. 5' 10" inches tall model and actress Rachel Nichols was widely popular as the face of Guess Jeans. She was also known for posing in fashion and women magazines, as well as being the model for Abercrombie & Fitch. On screen, long, blonde-haired Nichols was first noticed while playing a role in the comedy film, Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, in 2003 (as Jessica). Nichols, who also hosted several MTV specials, recently appeared in the classic horror remake, The Amityville Horror, alongside Ryan Reynolds and Melissa George. "I definitely wasn't one of the cool kids in high school. I was a dork. I was this shy, skinny, flat-chested girl with long arms." says Rachel Nichols. In Augusta, Maine, Rachel Emily Nichols was born on January 8, 1980. While growing up, Rachel enjoyed outdoor sports like hiking, windsurfing and sailing. After finishing high school, Rachel continued her education by studying economics and psychology at New York's Columbia University, from which she graduated in 2001. While at the University, Rachel felt acting beckon, so she took several drama classes. She was also an active model who often flew from America to Europe for photo shoots.

"I was in the right place at the right time and decided to give modeling a try" Rachel Nichols. Initiating her career in her university years as a model, 5' 10" inches tall Rachel Nichols shortly gained recognition being the model for the prestigious Guess Jeans. Also the model for Abercrombie & Fitch, Rachel Nichols later branched out in to acting. Her first big screen appearance was as a model at a bar in Joan Chen's romance-drama Autumn in New York (2000, starring Richard Gere and Winona Ryder). After a guest spot as steamy hostess Alexa on the smash hit series Sex and the City (opposite Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall), in February 2002, Rachel Nichols won a more distinguishable movie role in the next year. Film director Troy Miller handed her the role of Jessica in his comedy film, Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, in which she shared the screen with Timothy Stack and Mimi Rogers.

2004 saw her playing Trilby Moffat in Dan Polier's Debating Robert Lee (worked with Daniel Letterle and Dale Midkiff) and portraying Jennifer in David Yarovesky's short comedy, A Funny Thing Happened at the Quick Mart (together with Jeff Glassberg and Joey Kern). Meanwhile, Rachel Nichols played a reoccurring role (as Alex Myer) on the crime-drama series, Line of Fire, in May 2004. In 2005, Rachel Nichols appeared as Charlie in the movie version of Jay Anson's true-story novel, The Amityville Horror (starring Ryan Reynolds and Melissa George), a remake of the 1970s horror film. Rachel Nichols will soon be seen in Lucky McKee's mystery-horror The Woods (with Colleen Williams and Lauren Birkell) and star as Rebecca Locke in the series, The Inside (costarring Adam Baldwin).
