Tamara Braun is an American actress.However, Before becoming an actress, Tamara Braun trained as a massage therapist. Tamara Braun does not eat dairy, and is a natural brunette. Tamara Braun was a psyche major in school and took a summer course in Shakespeare at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in England before backpacking throughout Europe with her then boyfriend. Tamara Braun spends her spare time enjoying writing, films and enjoying life. Tamara Braun's main charity is the Therapuetic Living Centers for the Blind a not for profit agency providing programs and services for individuals who have multiple disabilities, including blindness.
Tamara Braun is best known for her Emmy Nominated Portrayel of sassy Caroline "Carly" Benson Quartermaine Corinthos on the ABC soap opera General Hospital, a role she played from 2001 to 2005. As Carly, Tamara Braun was featured very prominently as the romantic partners of characters Sonny Corinthos, portrayed by Daytime Emmy winner Maurice Benard and Lorenzo Alcazar portrayed by Ted King(who also portrayed Lorenzo's brother Luis). Tamara Braun's predecessor in the role, Emmy winner Sarah Brown, was incredibly popular; however, after initial resistance, fans began to accept Tamara Braun in the role (in part due to her physical resemblance to Brown) and she became probably the most popular star of GH in recent years. After she left General Hospital, she was replaced by Jennifer Bransford. However, in September 2005, due to Tamara Braun's very loyal following and fans severe dislike of Bransford, she was let go. Bransford was last seen on October 5th, 2005 and replaced by ABC daytime alum and CBS Daytime Star Laura Wright. Laura begins the role on November 4th,2005. Carly has seen heavy off time for the first time since Sarah Brown debuted with the role in 1996.
After some time to relax after exiting her role as Carly on General Hospital, Tamara Braun got back to work as the female lead in the independent movie Little Bayou(now changed to "Little Chenier"), which was filmed in Louisiana in August 2005. Tamara Braun worked with a dialect coach to perfect a Cajun accent, and she altered her appearance by getting a bronzed tan and darkening her hair. Tamara Braun's most recent appearance was as Rose on the Popular sitcom Freddie as a romantic interest of both lead male characters on the show. This was a 2 episode guest appearance spot.
