 Synopsis
This is a fictitious story about the secret life of Gong Show host (and creator of The Newlywed Game and The Dating Game) Chuck Barris (Rockwell), including the time he spent as CIA assassin "Sunny Sixkiller", making hits while under the guise of chaperoning the game show contestants who have won vacation prizes. Based on the book "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind: An Unauthorized Autobiography," by Gong Show host Chuck Barris.
 Critic Reviews
The rap on Chuck Barris, the brain behind The Dating Game, The Newlywed Game and The Gong Show, is that he's the genius of schlock. But that still makes him a genius, which is why this biopic about his dubious double life as a TV producer and CIA hitman is so brilliant, lively and twisted. Written by Charlie Kaufman and directed extravagantly by George Clooney, this beautiful Mind recognizes that the invention Barris brought to TV also applies to his self-told tales of intrigue and assassination. The results are thrilling: The script is snappy, sly and fun; Clooney's direction successfully steals from the best of pal Steven Soderbergh's work; and star Sam Rockwell (who doesn't look much like the real man) entirely embodies Barris. See it.
