 Synopsis
The film is set in the 1930s and is about a woman (Nicole Kidman), on the run from gangsters, who winds up in the small Rocky Mountain town of Dogville. A local (Paul Bettany) convinces the townsfolk to hide the fugitive, in exchange for her working throughout the community. But the people of Dogville aren't willing to live up to their end of the deal once the dangerous outlaws descend on their town, and Grace may be on her own.

San Francisco Chronicle : The best way to see Dogville is to know nothing about it, but to trust it and have faith that it will deliver. At 177 minutes, the film is slow to start -- or so it seems -- going along for nearly an hour before it even hints that it will be anything more than an innocuous parable.    more
