As Fat Albert tries to help young Doris win some friends, he falls in love with her sister Lauri—and everyone gets nervous that not only will his famous problemsolving talent fail him, but that he’ll want to stay in the real world.  Critic Reviews Grade : C + Boston Globe - In the end, it's hard to see a real reason for the movie's existence. We already have Muppets. Director Joel Zwick, the man responsible for ''My Big Fat Greek Wedding,'' doesn't so much enliven the action as concentrate on cranking out a wildly sanitized product. The movie's North Philadelphia setting is an antiseptically multicultural soundstage -- the urban feels suburban, and most of the actors have Hollywood accents. Realism, though, is obviously beside the point.   more Grade : C + Chicago Sun-Times - The movie is sweet and gentle, but not very compelling. All but its younger viewers will be expecting a little more excitement along with Fat Albert's genial encouragement of Doris.   more Grade : C + Chicago Tribune - There's still time for Fat Albert to develop a crush on Doris' foster sister and for Cosby to unveil a sweet memorial to his childhood buddies.
