 Critic Reviews
When you're lost in the woods and your friends are disappearing and you enter a deserted shotgun shack to use the phone, you pretty much get what you deserve. And thank goodness that nubile young twentysomethings never learn that lesson, or the reservoir of silly horror movies like this would dry up overnight. Buffy's Eliza Dushku and Six Feet Under's Jeremy Sisto take the title's wrong turn and get chased around the West Virginia hills by grotesque inbred cannibals. It's difficult to blame the killers really--what with no TV--and it's great to watch them grunt and howl and chop up the models turned actors. Just don't expect any surprises at all beyond the standard "he's-right-behind-you!" jolts. This stupidly fun schlock is actually gory enough to satisfy jaded horror fans and scary enough to offer a decent, frightening night at the movies for everyone else.
